How to light up your marquee
February 11th, 2014
Good lighting is essential inside a marquee, we always recommend you spend some time considering the lighting scheme whenever you hire one of our feature products at Best Intent. Where do you begin though if you have no experience of lighting? Try our guide, let it light the way!
- Starlights: Want to bring the night sky into your marquee? Use a starlight cloth on the ceiling area of your marquee. As the sun sets outside the interior of your marquee changes from a charming daytime setting to a fun party venue, when guest peer up the starlit curtain takes their breath away.
- Bathe areas in uplighters: Coloured uplighters wash the walls with beautiful colour-changing light, they help to create a sense of warmth and appeal and you can position them in special areas to highlight features within the marquee.
- Rope lighting looks lovely: Spiral rope lights around columns inside your marquee to create a twinkling effect. Fairy lights are just as effective, they look gorgeous draped over interior features, you can entwine them within topiary balls and bring the inside and outside of the marquee to life.
- Choose chandeliers for impact: Thanks to the flexibility of marquees you can pretty much choose any lighting scheme you like. Take chandeliers for example. They really give a marquee a sense of grandeur but add a decorative effect at the same time.
- Exterior lights: Interior lighting is important and so are those external lights as well. You might have extra guests arriving for the evening reception and the best way to welcome them is to use feature lights outside. Lanterns lit by candles are romantic and practical, oil burning garden torches light the way and look good as well. Welcome evening guests with a selection of lighting and they’ll be eager to get inside the marquee and start the celebrations!
