Last weekend we took part in a wedding fair at Harmony House in Melrose in the Scottish Borders. We thought we’d take the opportunity to tell you what a fantastic venue it is – not just for weddings but for any celebration.

Located in the idyllic town of Melrose, Harmony House is a beautifully restored Georgian villa offering wonderful self-catering accommodation for up to 12 people, making it a great party venue for bringing families together for a long weekend. The National Trust also own two smaller self-catering cottages very close to Harmony House so that parties can be extended – and of course there are a number of lovely hotels and B&Bs in Melrose and the neighbouring village of Gattonside, most notably the five star Fauhope House.

What really makes this property special is the stunning walled garden with manicured lawns and scented flower beds and the vegetable and fruit patches. Should you be there at the right time of year, the display of bulbs in the Spring is simply stunning. The Garden also boasts wonderful views of Melrose Abbey and the Eildons.
